| Obverse description | Central square hole (cash hole) surrounded by a plain inner rim, with four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform fashion reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left in Regular script (Kaishu): 淳、祐、通、寶 (Chunyou Tongbao). The characters are rendered in a bold, well-defined style typical of Southern Song dynasty cash coinage, set within a broad, slightly raised flat field. The outer rim is plain and moderately wide. |
