Obverse description The obverse is printed in purple-brown on a light ground with an elaborate guilloche framework framing the central field, which carries the text of the treasury obligation in Dari script along with manuscript signatures and a serial number. To the left, an oval vignette contains the Afghan state coat of arms with a mosque, and to the right a second oval vignette presents a view of the Independence Column in Kabul; the denomination '100' appears in Arabic-Indic numerals in each lower corner. A green ornamental side panel at left bears a decorative floral underprint, and the lower border carries the inscription 'AFGHANIS' in Latin script flanked by Arabic legends.

Reverse description The reverse is executed in a two-colour scheme of green and purple-brown, dominated by a large central rectangular panel enclosed within an intricate guilloche border with foliate corner ornaments. The central panel carries a three-line Pashto inscription stating the note's value and issuing authority, set against a lace-like green underprint. The numeral '100' appears in Arabic-Indic numerals in the upper right and lower left corners, while a blank white rectangle at the right edge is reserved for a watermark or control panel; no pictorial vignette is present.
