| Obverse description | The obverse features a dynamic battle scene in high relief depicting Polish soldiers engaged in combat during the Battle of Warsaw (1920), rendered in a detailed illustrative style. At upper left, the Polish crowned eagle appears in the field. Above the battle scene, a quotation in Polish italic script reads «[...] urodziłem się w 1920, w maju, w tym czasie, kiedy bolszewicy szli na Warszawę», referencing the words of Karol Wojtyła. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2020 runs along the upper rim, with the denomination 10 ZŁ inscribed at the base. The mint mark MW appears within the design. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dignified three-quarter length effigy of Pope John Paul II in papal vestments, including a mozzetta and zucchetto, standing to the right of center with hands clasped before him. To his left stands a detailed depiction of the baptismal font of the Basilica of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary in Wadowice, the church where Karol Wojtyła was baptized, rendered in fine relief. Between the figure and the font, a small horizontal band in the colors of the Polish national flag (white and red) appears in color, providing the coin's single colored accent.
