| Reverse description | Printed entirely in carmine-red, the reverse is anchored by two large guilloche rosette medallions bearing the numeral 10, one at each side, flanking a central text panel set within an elaborate engine-turned scrollwork surround. The central panel carries the promise-to-pay clause above the bold intaglio inscription TEN YUAN, surmounted by the issuer's title THE CHINESE ITALIAN BANKING CORPORATION in a banner across the top. Signature lines for President and Manager appear at lower left and right respectively, with the date SEPTEMBER 15TH 1921 and the printer's imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY at the foot. |
