Obverse description Central device features the Hō-ō (phoenix) in right profile, flanked symmetrically by two small Paulownia (Kiri) flower seals rendered in low relief. A two-line legend arcs across the upper and lower fields respectively, with the date position left intentionally blank. The field is plain and unadorned beyond the primary devices, consistent with an undated pattern or trial piece of the Shōwa era.
