| 背面描述 | A young woman dressed in traditional Korean hanbok is depicted in dynamic motion upon a swing, her figure leaning forward with arms outstretched gripping the ropes, rendered in high relief against a background of stylized rocky terrain, bare-branched trees, and a distant traditional pavilion in the lower left field. The denomination '10 WON' is inscribed to the left of the central motif. The legend 'KOREAN FOLK. IV SWINGING' curves along the right periphery and lower border, identifying this piece as the fourth issue in the Korean Folk series. |

North Korea's late-1990s commemorative program was aimed almost entirely at foreign currency collectors, not domestic circulation. The DPRK was in the grip of the Arduous March famine — the worst of the Kim Jong-il era — when this piece was struck, and hard currency from overseas coin sales was a meaningful line item in the state's foreign exchange receipts.
