Popis líce	The Samoan coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a palm tree above ocean waves in the upper half and five stars of the Southern Cross constellation in the lower half, surmounted by a Christian cross. The shield is flanked by two symmetrical olive branches and supported by a scroll bearing the national motto legend FAVAE ILE ATUA SAMOA. The country name SAMOA appears in the upper legend and the denomination $10 is inscribed below the coat of arms.

Popis rubu	A detailed profile view of the German Imperial Navy gunboat SMS Eber is depicted facing right, rendered with full rigging, multiple furled sails, and a steam funnel amidships, commemorating its loss in the great Apia hurricane of 16 March 1889. Below the vessel, a cartographic map view shows the outlines of the two principal Samoan islands, Savai'i and Upolu, with coordinate lines and island name labels. The curved legend EBER · 16 MARCH 1889 arcs across the upper field, and the year 1999 appears prominently at the lower right.
