| Obverse description | Central intaglio vignette of Sebastián de Benalcázar, the Spanish conquistador and founder of Quito, set within an ornate oval cartouche with scrollwork surrounds, against a pink and dark brown guilloche underprint. Denomination numerals "10" appear in scalloped rosettes to the left and right, flanked by serial numbers and the series designation, with the issuer's name in bold letterpress across the top. Three facsimile signatures appear at the base, attributed to the Gerente General, Superintendente de Bancos, and Vocal, with the place name "Quito" and date below the left serial number. |
