Obverse description Central vignette of a conquistador in armour and plumed helmet, set within an oval frame, flanked by large numeral 10 guilloche panels on either side. The bank title BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR arcs across the top in bold letterpress, with the city of issue QUITO and date line below the central vignette. Two signature lines appear at the lower centre, attributed to the Gerente General and Superintendente de Bancos, with series and serial number printed in black at upper left and right.

Reverse description The Ecuadorian national coat of arms, an ornate intaglio vignette centred on the note, surrounded by elaborate guilloche lacework filling the entire field in deep blue. The bank title BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR is inscribed at the top, and the denomination legend DIEZ SUCRES appears at the lower margin. Large numeral 10 panels occupy the left and right portions of the design.
