Obverse description Black and dark green intaglio engraving on white paper with a multicolour guilloche underprint in the centre. At left, a seated male allegorical figure representing agriculture holds a sheaf of wheat, while at right a seated female allegorical figure holds a ship model on a tray, symbolising commerce; denomination numeral '10' appears in the lower corners. The upper portion carries the issuer's full title in bold letterpress, with 'DIEZ SUCRES EN MONEDA CORRIENTE' inscribed below the central oval guilloche medallion, 'QUITO' at lower left, and printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY' at the bottom.

Reverse description Uniform brown intaglio engraving with an elaborate symmetrical guilloche pattern composed of four large rosette medallions, each containing the numeral '10', arranged around a central '10' medallion. A repeating '10-10-10' border runs along the top and bottom edges, and the issuer's name and 'SOCIEDAD ANÓNIMA' appear in a panel at the lower centre. The printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY' is present at the bottom margin.
