Beschrijving voorzijde The Ecuadorian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an oval shield bearing a coastal scene with a steamship on the sea, surmounted by a condor with outstretched wings perched atop the shield. The shield is flanked by flags and palm and laurel branches, with fasces crossed below. The circular legend reads the weight, denomination, and gold fineness, with the mint name and assayer initials 'J.M. BIRMINGHAM' inscribed at the base. The inscription 'G.8·136 DIEZ SUCRES LEY 0·900' runs around the upper periphery, and the entire design is bordered by a beaded rim.

Beschrijving keerzijde A left-facing portrait bust of Antonio José de Sucre, the Venezuelan-born independence hero and liberator of Ecuador, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and military attire. The legend 'REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR' arcs along the upper periphery, while the date of issue appears in the lower field. The design is framed by a beaded border, consistent with the milled coinage style of the period.
