| Aanvullende informatie |
The Universala Ligo issued this piece in 1959 as a fantasy or promotional token within the Esperanto movement's long-running ambition to pair a constructed international language with a constructed international currency — the "stelo" being the Esperanto word for star, itself a nod to the green star already adopted as the movement's symbol. These were never legal tender anywhere, functioning instead as ideological objects: something a delegate might spend at an Esperanto congress or simply keep as a statement of internationalist principle.
Catalogued under Krause's X# sequence, which groups world exonumia and fantasy issues outside mainstream national coinage.
