Obverse description Central shield of the Danish royal arms bearing three passant lions arranged vertically on a dotted or granulated field, each lion accompanied by flanking heart motifs, the whole surmounted by an ornate royal crown with beaded arches. The design is unlettered and occupies the full field, enclosed within a toothed or engrailed inner border running along the coin's periphery. The rendering is precise and heraldically faithful to the contemporary Danish coat of arms as used under Frederik VII.
