| Reverse description | The reverse is fully colored, depicting a detailed polychrome portrait of a bighorn ram facing slightly left, rendered in vivid pink and crimson tones against a sky-blue and white clouded background, filling the entire octagonal field. The animal's large, curved ribbed horns are prominently rendered in deep red. A row of small circular dots frames the interior edge of the octagon. The legend WILDLIFE appears in white along the upper arc, with the year 2002 inscribed in gold numerals immediately below. |

| Additional information |
Somalia's 2002 wildlife series was issued during a period when the country had no functioning central government — the Central Bank of Somalia existed largely on paper, and the coins were almost certainly produced by a private mint on contract rather than through any genuine state monetary infrastructure. They circulated, if at all, in a country where foreign currency and informal exchange had long displaced domestic coinage.
