Aanvullende informatie

Kenya's bimetallic shilling coinage has existed in two parallel versions since the early 2000s — magnetic and non-magnetic — distinguished only by their steel cores. The shift toward magnetic compositions was driven by vending machine and automated sorting infrastructure requirements, a practical concession to modernizing commerce rather than any monetary policy decision.

KM#35.2 is the less frequently encountered of the two variants in sorted collections, as casual circulation made no distinction between them.
