Bilingual promise-to-pay clauses in English and Dutch appear above the denomination, with the issuing place 'Pretoria' and date at lower centre flanked by a facsimile Governor's signature and the title 'Governor / President'. The four corners bear numeral '10' vignettes within ornamental frames, and the serial number appears twice at left and upper right. |

The bank name appears in large letterpress text in two columns on either side — 'SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK' to the left and 'ZUIDAFRIKAANSE RESERVEBANK' to the right — all within a fine lace-pattern border.
