| Obverse description | The issuer's title THE GOVERNMENT OF MALTA is inscribed across the top, above an elaborate guilloche frame in mauve and purple tones enclosing the denomination TEN SHILLINGS in the central panel, with the numeral 10/- repeated at each side margin. An intaglio oval vignette at right carries a portrait of King George VI, while the legal tender clause is inscribed within the central field below the denomination. A handwritten Treasurer signature and manuscript date appear at lower left. |
