| Obverse description | Central field features the national coat of arms of Somalia, comprising a quartered shield bearing a five-pointed star, supported by two leopards rampant on either side, with a scroll and crossed spears at the base. The upper legend reads 'JAMHUURIYADDA DIMOOQRAADIGA SOOMALIYA' in Latin script, with the equivalent legend in Arabic script arcing below it. The commemorative dates '1969–1979' and their Arabic-numeral equivalents '١٩٦٩–١٩٧٩' are inscribed in the lower central field, flanked by the Somali legend 'SANNAD GUURADII 10AAD EE KACAANKA' and the Arabic legend 'الذكرى العاشرة للثورة'. |
