Reverse description A boldly rendered radiant sun occupies the central field, with long alternating straight and tapered rays emanating outward from a smooth central disc. Encircling the sun is a wreath of cherry blossom (sakura) flowers arranged in an arc. Japanese characters reading 'Great Japan' appear on the left and the regnal year of Taishō on the right, while the denomination '10 SEN' is inscribed in Latin characters along the lower portion of the field. The design is enclosed within a toothed border.
