A large 10 in the center of the piece with the text `TEN ROUPIES` in Sinhala, Tamil and English below. The year, below the text, is surrounded by ears of rice on each side. `SRI LANKA` in Sinhalese appears at the top as well as in Tamil on the left and in English on the right. A geometric pattern is engraved around the edge.
