A stylised rock formation rises in the background, referencing the region's ancient heritage. The trilingual district name appears as a legend along the upper periphery, reading மாத்தளை in Tamil to the left, මාතලේ in Sinhala at the top, and Matale in Latin to the right. The date 2013 is inscribed at the base of the inner circle.
