| Reversbeschreibung | The large numeral '10' dominates the central field, with the denomination spelled out below in three scripts: Sinhala (රුපියල් දහයයි), Tamil (பத்து ரூபாய்), and Latin (TEN RUPEES). The country name Sri Lanka appears at the top in three scripts — Sinhala (ශ්රී ලංකා), Tamil (இலங்கை), and Latin (SRI LANKA). The date 2013 is inscribed at the base, flanked on either side by sprigs of paddy ears. The entire design is enclosed within a circle, with a geometric ornamental pattern running along the periphery and a partly raised rim. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Kurunegala, the city honored on this coin, served as the capital of a medieval Sinhalese kingdom during the 13th and 14th centuries — a period when the royal court shifted repeatedly northward under sustained South Indian pressure. The regional commemorative rupee series, of which this is a part, was introduced by the Central Bank to mark Sri Lanka's provincial capitals, most of which carry histories obscured by colonial-era renaming and administrative reorganization.
AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel was adopted for the higher-denomination circulating coins partly due to its resistance to the corrosive humidity endemic to the island's coastal regions.
