American Bank Note Company of New York handled production, a common choice for newly sovereign island nations during this period who lacked bilateral printing arrangements with European security printers.

Pick 28 is the lower-denomination workhorse of the series and saw heavy circulation. Worn examples are the rule, not the exception.
