The bank's full title THE CHARTERED MERCANTILE BANK OF INDIA LONDON & CHINA appears in bold letterpress across the centre, above a large guilloche underprint bearing the word TEN in rust-brown overprint, with manuscript promise text and the authorisation BY ORDER OF THE COURT OF DIRECTORS; a bold red SPECIMEN overprint is applied diagonally across the lower portion. |
