| Obverse description | Printed in blue on white cotton paper, the obverse bears the heading CEYLON BRANCH at top centre, with Tamil and Sinhala script inscriptions flanking the denomination numerals 10 / RUPEES in ornamental cartouches at upper left and right. A central royal arms vignette carries the legend INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER, with the place and date KANDY 1st Jan. 1870 below.
