The Kislovodsk branch had no press infrastructure to speak of, and the Piatigorsk-Batalpashchinsk designation reflects a specific administrative district rather than a coherent banking entity — the note essentially represents a local IOU backed by military authority rather than any formal reserve.
Authentication relied entirely on an official stamp, which made forgery trivially easy and acceptance deeply reluctant outside the issuing district.
