A circular legend in Arabic and Latin frames the design, reading 'STATE OF FUJAIRAH' and the denomination. The Hijri year 1389 and the Christian year 1970 are both present, along with the mintage figure stamped at lower left and the silver fineness mark '1000' within an oval cartouche at lower right.

The "Mohammed Apollo XIV" title commemorates the Apollo 14 lunar mission of early 1971 — though the coin was dated 1970, likely anticipating the launch. Fujairah issued dozens of such commemoratives in this period almost entirely for the collector export market, with negligible quantities ever reaching domestic circulation.
