Bradbury Wilkinson's contract work for Brunei during this period predates the 1984 independence declaration, meaning early printings within the 1976–1986 range were issued under the 1959 Agreement with Britain — Brunei remaining a protectorate while managing its own currency through the Brunei Currency Board.
