| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylized lion's head shown en face occupies the center of the field, depicted with a full mane rendered in detailed concentric relief, evoking an ancient Phoenician artistic tradition. The denomination numeral 10 appears to the left and its Eastern Arabic-Indic equivalent ١٠ to the right of the lion's head. The Arabic legend for piastres (قروش) curves along the upper periphery, while the Latin legend PIASTRES arcs along the lower periphery, flanked by small decorative ornaments. The reverse is likewise enclosed within a beaded border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
By 1952, the Banque de Syrie et du Liban was already operating on borrowed time — Syria had withdrawn from the currency union with Lebanon in 1948, leaving the bank issuing coins for a political arrangement that no longer fully existed. This aluminium piece was struck for Lebanese circulation only, part of a transitional coinage as Lebanon moved toward establishing its own fully sovereign monetary institution, which came with the creation of the Banque du Liban in 1964.
