| Obverse description | A Cedar of Lebanon tree occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with a broad, layered canopy and a prominent trunk, serving as the national emblem of the Lebanese Republic. A five-pointed star appears to either side of the trunk at mid-field. The Arabic legend curves along the upper periphery, while the Latin legend REPUBLIQUE LIBANAISE arcs along the lower periphery. The date appears in both Western Arabic numerals (1952) and Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals (١٩٥٢) on either side of the base of the tree. The entire design is contained within a beaded border. |
