| 正面描述 | Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdulaziz, rendered in flowing Ottoman script with tall vertical strokes and sweeping horizontal extensions. A decorative floral spray appears to the right of the tughra. The Arabic numeral denomination '١٠' (10) is inscribed below the tughra, followed by the abbreviation for Qirsh. The entire design is enclosed within a uniform beaded border. |

This issue falls within the early khedival period, struck when Egypt nominally remained an Ottoman vassal but was increasingly asserting administrative independence under Said Pasha's successor. The 10 Qirsh denomination in silver was a workhorse of Egyptian commerce during the cotton boom years, when American Civil War disruptions to global supply drove Egyptian exports — and currency demand — sharply upward.
KM#256 is known with minor die variations across the three-year span, reflecting the Misr mint's inconsistent production practices of the period.
