The reverse is dominated by a detailed intaglio vignette of Port Sudan harbour, with a large cargo vessel moored at the quayside and dock workers, vehicles, and railway wagons visible on the wharf below; a passenger aircraft flies in the upper right sky above the port cityscape. The inscription 'BANK OF SUDAN' runs across the top in letterpress, and 'TEN SUDANESE POUNDS' appears in a bold panel across the bottom, with denomination numerals in guilloche cartouches at all four corners. The printer's imprint 'DE LA RUE' is present in small letters at the foot of the vignette. |

The Bank of Sudan was established in 1960 following Sudan's break from the Egyptian pound system, and De La Rue handled the bulk of early Sudanese note production through this period. The shift in watermark between the 1970 and 1971 dates — from rhinoceros to secretary bird — is the most practical diagnostic for attribution within the P#15 series, as the notes are otherwise closely related in design. Three distinct signature combinations across the decade reflect genuine institutional flux, including the change in signatory title between 1970 and 1971, from Governor to Chairman of the Board of Directors, a reorganization with real administrative significance.
