The inscription 'BANK OF SUDAN' runs across the top in letterpress, and 'TEN SUDANESE POUNDS' appears in a bold panel across the bottom, with denomination numerals in guilloche cartouches at all four corners. The Bank of Sudan was established in 1960 following Sudan's break from the Egyptian pound system, and De La Rue handled the bulk of early Sudanese note production through this period.
