Obverse description The obverse is dominated by a large bold letterpress denomination legend 'TEN PIASTRES' in English and 'عشرة قروش صاغ' in Arabic, printed in dark brown against a light green guilloche underprint with a repeated 'TEN P.T.' trellis pattern forming the border. The upper portion carries the bilingual authority inscription 'EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT CURRENCY NOTE / ISSUED UNDER DECREE' in English and 'الحكومة المصرية أوراق عملة رسمية' in Arabic, while the lower section bears the denomination numeral '10' at left, a manuscript signature above the title 'Minister of Finance', and a serial number at centre-right.
