| 背面描述 | Octagonal zinc token with a pearl border along the full perimeter. A twisted rope or cable circle frames the central field, within which the large numeral 10 is prominently struck, denoting the denomination. The circular legend KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE (small change substitute token) runs around the outside of the rope border. Three six-pointed star ornaments are placed at the lower portion of the design, one at the base and one to each side, serving as decorative separators. |

Preetzer Spar- und Leihkasse was a small savings and loan institution in Preetz, a market town in Holstein, and like hundreds of similar local bodies across Germany it began issuing zinc notgeld in 1917 when the imperial government's wartime metal requisitions stripped copper and nickel from circulation entirely. These emergency pieces were legal for local transactions only, redeemable at the issuing institution — which meant their survival depended entirely on whether that institution outlasted the war.
