10 Pfennig - Neumünster

Neumünster's 1920 iron notgeld coinage was a direct consequence of the postwar metal shortage and the German Reich's inability to supply adequate small change to municipalities. Cities and towns across Schleswig-Holstein issued their own emergency coinage during this period, and Neumünster — a textile and leather manufacturing center — was among the more prolific local issuers.
