| Obverse description | An outer beaded rim frames the design, with a continuous circular inner beaded border enclosing the central motif. The Mettmann municipal coat of arms, depicting a fortified townscape with towers and a crown above, occupies the central field. A circular legend in raised Latin lettering reads around the upper periphery between the two beaded borders, flanked by two small six-pointed stars at the base. The overall composition is plain and utilitarian, consistent with the emergency coinage (Notgeld) aesthetic of the early Weimar Republic period. |
