Elaborate foliate and scrollwork ornaments occupy the spaces above and below the horizontal lines, lending the design a decorative, typographic character. A round hole, approximately 4 mm in diameter, pierces the field to the right of the monogram. The overall design is plain and functional, consistent with German Notgeld emergency coinage of the World War I era. |
