The overall design reflects the industrial character of the city of Hamm and its association with Westphalian coal production. Varieties exist with the central sun depicted with either 40 or 42 radiating beams. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Beaded border surrounds the central design, which features the Coat of Arms of the city of Hamm positioned at the upper center of the field. The date 1919 is divided on either side of the coat of arms, with 19 appearing to the left and 19 to the right. The denomination numeral 10 is inscribed at the lower center of the field below the coat of arms. The reverse layout is symmetrical and typographically spare, consistent with the utilitarian character of German notgeld coinage of the post-World War I period. |
