Within the field, the full-length figure of St. Gotthard, Bishop of Hildesheim, is shown facing front, vested in episcopal robes and mitre, holding a crozier in his left hand and a book in his right. The figure stands in a devotional posture, consistent with his iconographic tradition as patron saint of Gotha. No inscriptions appear on this side. |
