| Reverse description | A plain raised rim encloses a legend band and a central circle, the two zones separated by a raised inner border. Within the central circle, the municipal shield of Frankenthal is depicted: a pointed heraldic shield bearing a stylized hourglass or pyramid charge in the lower half with a crescent above, rendered in low relief on the zinc flan. The Fraktur blackletter legend encircling the shield reads 'Gott ist unser Eckstein' (God is our cornerstone), with the date '1917' appearing in the lower portion of the legend band. The design reflects civic pride typical of German municipal notgeld issues of the World War I era. |
