| Obverse description | The obverse is divided into two registers by a solid horizontal line, with a beaded outer rim encircling the entire face. The denomination numeral '10' appears prominently in the upper field above the dividing line, while the city name legend 'STADT BURGHAUSEN A/S.' is inscribed in the lower register. The design is stark and utilitarian in keeping with the Notgeld emergency coinage tradition, with no figurative imagery. |

| Additional information |
Burghausen issued this iron notgeld piece in 1918 as the German war economy had stripped copper and zinc from municipal circulation entirely, leaving local authorities to improvise with whatever base metals remained available. The Salzach border town, historically prosperous from the salt trade that gave the river its name, was by this point producing emergency coinage simply to make change.
