H. curves along the upper portion of the field in raised Latin letters. Centered in the field, the large numeral 10 dominates, with the denomination PFENNIG inscribed immediately below in capital letters. The date 1917 appears in the lower field beneath the denomination, completing the typographical composition. |

The shield bears two crossed pickaxes or hatchets on a textured ground, rendered in relief. Above the shield, a small decorative element surmounts the top of the escutcheon. The flat field surrounding the arms is plain, with no legend or additional inscription. The overall design is austere and functional, consistent with World War I-era Notgeld coinage. |
