A central red cartouche in the upper half carries the Gothic-script inscription 'Notgeld Universitätsstadt Jena', flanked by decorative roundels with concentric circle motifs. The denomination '10 Pf.' appears in large red numerals on a dark central panel beneath, with the date 'Jena, den 1. Mai 1921' in a blue-grey box below it, and flanking text panels on either side carrying the validity clause and manuscript signatures of the Gemeindevorstand and Gemeinderat. |
