Beschrijving keerzijde Full-face pictorial vignette in muted earth tones and grey-green washes, occupying the entire note face within a simple ruled border. At left, the famous Lindau harbour lion statue is rendered seated on its stone plinth, viewed from behind, gazing out over the calm expanse of Lake Constance toward distant mountains beneath a stormy, cloud-laden sky; birds in flight are scattered across the lake surface at centre. The denomination numeral '10' is set in bold type at lower right, and the issuing authority inscription runs along the base of the lion's pedestal.

Opmerkingen

Lindau's municipal administration issued this note in 1919 as part of the vast Kleingeldersatz wave that flooded Germany when metal coinage effectively vanished from circulation during and after the First World War. The printer, Dr. Karl Höhn, was a local Lindau firm — the note never left the immediate region in any practical sense, functioning as a purely municipal stop-gap redeemable only within the town's own commerce.

Lindau's island geography meant its local scrip economy was unusually self-contained. Höhn printed numerous Notgeld types for the Stadtmagistrat across this period, and minor typographic variations between runs are documented.
