Koberg is a small locality in Holstein, and its Amtsbezirk — a rural administrative district rather than a municipality — was among the lesser issuers of German notgeld during the post-WWI small-change crisis. Most district-level offices issued notgeld because coins had been hoarded or melted, leaving everyday transactions effectively impossible. Parcus of Munich handled a considerable volume of provincial notgeld contracts during this period, and their printing shows in the consistent registration and clean typography typical of their smaller denomination work.
The Koberg issue is minor enough that documentation of its exact circulation period is sparse.
