Reverse description The centre of the inner disc features the face of Tonatiuh, the Aztec sun deity, as depicted on the famous Mexica Sun Stone (Piedra del Sol), rendered in detailed relief with the characteristic fire mask and surrounding calendrical glyphs. Within the outer ring, the denomination $10 appears at the top, flanked by the mint year to the left and the Mexico City Mint mark M to the right; the commemorative inscription AÑO 2000 appears at the base of the outer ring. The junction between the smooth outer ring and the serrated inner edge creates a characteristic bimetallic border.
