Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Benito Juárez occupies the central field, rendered in low relief with a short, unfinished truncation at the base of the neck. The peripheral legend ESTADO L. Y S. DE OAXACA (Free and Sovereign State of Oaxaca) curves along the upper rim in incuse Latin characters. Two small five-pointed stars flank the lower field, with the date 1915 inscribed along the base between them. The overall die work is characteristically crude and utilitarian, reflecting the emergency provisional nature of the issue.
