Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield divided into three sections bearing a royal palm, a rising sun over mountains, and a golden key between two promontories, surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a fasces and flanked by sprigs of oak on the left and laurel on the right. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals, while the denomination 10 PESOS is inscribed along the lower periphery. The design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field.
