| 裏面の説明 | The coat of arms of the State of Guerrero is centrally positioned, rendered in fine detail with an ornate cartouche shield bearing a pre-Columbian warrior's profile in the upper canton and a stylised stepped geometric motif in the lower portion, surmounted by an elaborate feathered headdress crest with scrolled supporters. The curved legend ESTADO DE GUERRERO arcs across the upper field. The Mexico City Mint mark Mo appears to the left of the shield and the date 2005 to the right, while the denomination $10 is inscribed in the lower exergue. An inner beaded border frames the entire design. |

This piece belongs to the long-running Mexican estados series, in which the Casa de Moneda issued a silver proof coin for each of the country's 31 states plus the Federal District — one state per year from 2004 onward. Guerrero's selection for the 2005 issue was part of that fixed rotation, not a special commemoration.
Guerrero itself was named for Vicente Guerrero, executed by firing squad in 1831 after a political rival engineered his capture by bribing a Genoese ship captain named Francisco Picaluga.
